Open Division Dress Code

Rule of thumb: Wear clothes you can move in

For ballet classes, most dancers wear:

  • Female-presenting: Any color leotard, tights, ballet slippers, skirt or warm-ups, hair secured neatly back (Pointe class requires Academy Division Uniform).

  • Male-presenting: Any color fitted sweats, sweat shorts or tights with dance belt, fitted tee, ballet slippers.

  • BUT Athletic clothing works just fine for all classes.

  • Socks work as an alternative to ballet slippers, but please no fabric softener- it ruins our floors!

  • Our recommended ballet slippers are the Bloch Performas, which can be found at Bourree Boutique in San Rafael, on Amazon, or DiscountDanceSupply.com.

For all other contemporary or fitness classes:

  • Just something you can comfortably move in and socks.

  • Long pants preferred for contemporary floor work

  • No high crop top/ sports bras without a shirt covering, please.
